During mid 2009 the first approved awning was installed as a test. After 18 months this awning is still rust free and has not suffered any wind damage.

Should an owner wish to install an awning they must submit a written (mail/email/fax) request to the Managing Agents. The Trustees will then investigate and evaluate the request before approval is granted.

Owners should ensure that any common property affected during construction is restored to its original state and that the common property is left clean and neat.

Responsibility for maintaining the awning rests with the owner.

Awnings may extend 3m from the sliding door and may only be erected over property that forms part of a section or has been approved as exclusive use to the section.

Two options are available. Either a solid roof or a louvered roof that can be opened.

  • Colour must be white.
  • Top of awning must be at a height of 2.25m above lower band that surrounds the unit
  • Gutter on the awning must connect to existing gutters on the unit. No new downpipes may be installed.
  • Braai chimney must extend through the awning.
  • Adjacent awnings must be joined to form one continuous facia.
  • No existing pillars may be removed, but on some units it may be required to remove the top of the pillar that used to support the old pergolas.
